living without magazine.

We don’t know why it’s taken us so long to subscribe to Living Without: the magazine for people with allergies and food sensitivities. But our first subscription-based magazine came today, and we’re impressed! Great-looking recipes (and lots of ‘em!), a good number of kid-oriented or kid-based features, GF product advertisements (we like the ads because it helps us keep on top of what’s new in the GF world!), GF travel tips, product coupons, updates from diet and science experts, and lots more.

burgers. on gluten-free buns!

How long’s it been since you’ve had a hamburger? We’re not talking some protein-style In-N-Out burger here; we’re talking bun and all. A REAL hamburger you make out of ground chuck, cook over open fire, and stack high with sharp cheddar cheese, red onions, juicy red tomatoes and all the fixin’s, fries on the side. Num.

expert interview & tour @ bob’s red mill

Hop on over to The Kitchn to see a fascinating interview, brimming with photos, with Bob of Bob’s Red Mill. After reading this, we’re a tiny bit tempted to swoon “our hero!” in true damsel-in-distress fashion. Except that we’d be gluten-free damsels in distress!

jovial gluten-free cookies.

With a name like Jovial, we couldn’t resist picking up a box of these cookies over the weekend. What a perfect way to round out a homestyle celebration of the 4th of July (or 3rd of July, in our case)!

gf take ‘n’ bake pizzas.

We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate that there are so many gluten-free dining and shopping options here in Northern California. One of our very favorite grocery stores is Andy’s Produce in Sebastopol, Calif. where an entire aisle is packed with some of the best gluten-free products around. You’ve got yer Mama Baretta breads & cookies, a whole bunch of Pamela’s Products, Mi-Del, Gluten Free Pantry, Udi’s, Rudi’s, Legacy Valley, Cherybrook Kitchen, Enjoy Life, and so many more yummy and wholesome snacks.

gluten in…tea?!

Heads up my GF tea drinking friends because it is true: gluten can lurk where we least expect it: in our cups of tea. Tea nerd alert: tea is actually camellia sinensis, a specific shrub, and herbal teas are typically infusions and do not contain any actual tea. If you stick with straight up tea, you know you are getting a cup of camellia sinensis, whether that tea is black, green, white or oolong. But what if you want a comforting caffeine-free beverage made of an infusion of herbs, flowers, bark and leaves? What could possibly contain gluten in herbal tea?

glow gluten free cookies.

Whoa! Now that’s a cookie tower we can wrap our mouths around!

Glow Gluten Free is dedicated GF bakery that uses all natural and organic ingredients in a certified and Kosher gluten free bakery. Their not-so-secret recipe includes garbanzo bean and coconut flour, which we’re seeing a lot of in on-the-shelves GF baked goods these days because the pairing makes for a delicious, nutritious, casein-free treat-eating experience. Glow cookies come in four flavors: double chocolate chip, gingersnap, chocolate chip & snikerdoodle.

new planet gluten-free beer. a new fave.

Way back when (last summer), a couple of members of The Gluten Free Lab went on a trip through the south. They eventually meandered into Colorado where they dined gleefully at Udi’s Pizza Café in Olde Town Arvada, CO. Their lives were never the same.

Why?
